2nd Quarter Food Drive
7th-12th grade students brought in 540 lbs. of food that was donated to the Albert Lea Salvation Army food pantry. The food drive was part of the community service focus for the second quarter at the high school.
 
Burger Basket Fundraiser
On Saturday January 9th the Junior class will be working the burger basket fundraiser at the American Legion in Glenville. The cost is $8 for a burger and fries and it is open from 5:00-8:00 pm.
 
Football Meeting
A meeting for football players in grades 8th-11th and their parents will be held on Saturday Jan. 16th in the high school library (before the boys and girls basketball game). A discussion will take place on participation numbers and options that are available. Your attendance and input is very important to the football program. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Craig Rayman.
 
Open Gym
Open Gym will start on Saturday Jan. 16th with the high school gym open from 12:00-3:00.
This is a free activity for all G-E elementary and high school students and supervision is provided by Mr. Wayne Olson. Students can shoot baskets and play games with their friends. Games are not organized by the supervisor. Also, the gym will be cleared at 2:55, so parents are asked to pick up their child by 3:00.
 
Open Shop Classes
Open Shop class will begin Tuesday Jan. 26th and run for 5 consecutive Tuesdays thru Feb. 23 from 6:00-9:30 pm. A minimum of 5 people will be needed to offer the class so please call Duane Koenen at the school and sign up by Jan. 19th.
 
Elementary Wolverine Store
The next date for elementary students to purchase items from the wolverine store will be Jan. 26th from 7:45-8:05. There are several new items that have been added that students can exchange their wolverine bucks for.
 
Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Monday Jan. 18th is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, students  do not have school on this day.
 
End Of 2nd Quarter
Friday Jan. 22 marks the end of the second quarter, hard to believe we are almost 1/2 way through the school year already!
 
Grading Day
Monday Jan. 25 is grading day for the teachers. The students do not have school on this day.
